Frequently Asked Questions

  • Hero Shots is a portrait and headshot service for actors, creatives, founders, and professionals — anyone who wants strong, well-crafted portraits. From clean commercial looks to more expressive images, sessions are tailored to what you actually need.

  • All sessions take place at my studio in North York, at 312 Dolomite Dr. Free parking is available on site. There's also a washroom just down the hall from the studio.

  • Not at all. Full direction is provided throughout every session. Most people are surprised by how relaxed and fun it actually is.

  • Sessions are primarily done in-studio. If you're interested in something on location, reach out and we can talk through options.

  • 60 Minute Session — $399 + tax. A focused, efficient session for work, web, and casting. Includes 3 professionally retouched images and an online proofing gallery.

    Creative Session — $549 + tax. No time limit. Ideal for actors, models, and anyone building a personal brand. Includes 5 professionally retouched images and an online proofing gallery. Most clients work through 5 to 10 outfit changes.

  • Additional retouched images — $45 each.

    Full Gallery Grade — $200. Every usable frame from your session, colour corrected and graded. Delivered within one week.

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking and is handled online. Your session isn't confirmed until payment is received. Any add-ons are purchased after the session.

  • Not a problem. If you have limited time, everything can be set up in advance so you just show up and get photographed. A handful of excellent headshots can be done in as little as 10 minutes.

  • Sessions typically produce 100+ usable frames. You'll receive an online proofing gallery within 24 hours — often the same day — and select your favourites from there.

  • Retouched finals are delivered within one week of you making your selections. The same turnaround applies to any add-ons.

  • RAW files aren't delivered. If you'd like every usable frame from your session, the Full Gallery Grade add-on includes all images colour corrected and graded in high resolution for $200.

  • Retouching covers blemish removal, stray hairs, lint, and similar cleanup. The goal is a natural, polished look — not heavy-handed editing. If you have specific requests, just let me know. One round of revisions is included per retouched image.

  • Retouching is kept light and natural. The goal is to present the best version of you, not a different version of you.

  • Come camera-ready — hair and makeup done as you'd want to appear in your photos. There's no makeup artist on site, so arrive looking the way you want to be photographed.

  • Bring whatever you feel comfortable and confident in. Texture matters more than colour — layered fabrics, knitwear, and structured pieces tend to photograph well. Neutral and pastel tones work nicely, but don't overthink it. If you're not sure whether something works, bring it anyway. We might not shoot everything, but if you don't bring it we can't shoot it.

  • For the 60 Minute Session, 2 to 3 looks is typically plenty. For the Creative Session, most clients bring 5 to 10. There's no hard limit.

  • Absolutely. If you have reference images, a specific look in mind, or direction from your agent, send a message ahead of time and we'll talk it through.

  • Head to the booking page, pick a time that works, and you're locked in. Full payment is taken at the time of booking.

  • Sessions cancelled or rescheduled with more than 24 hours notice can be moved at no charge. Less than 24 hours notice is non-refundable. No-shows forfeit the session entirely. If something comes up, reach out as early as possible and we'll do our best to work something out.

  • Book the Creative Session — it has no time limit and is built for clients who need more range, more looks, and more time.
