About Dan Pearce

Hero Shots is my Toronto portrait studio, built on a decade of film and TV experience.

I picked up my first camera the month before enrolling in the photojournalism program at Loyalist College, and it turned out to be a good fit. I had my first sports photo published in a local newspaper by second semester.

From there I followed the path I'd always wanted: film. I studied camera and lighting at Sheridan College and spent the next decade working in Toronto's film and TV industry on productions like Suits, Odd Squad, Top Chef Canada, The Great Canadian Baking Show, and Big Brother Canada, as well as commercials for RBC, BMO, Canadian Tire, and Polar Ice.

When the pandemic shut down production in 2020, I turned my lens toward headshots, and found something I love. It's not just lighting and composition, it's helping someone feel comfortable enough to show up as themselves on camera.

I work primarily with actors and business professionals who want images that look like them on a good day.
