HEADSHOTS THAT LOOK LIKE YOU, at your best

A good actor headshot doesn't need complicated lighting or heavy retouching. It needs to look like you, show some personality and give casting a clear idea of who they're looking at.

I've spent more than 10 years working in film and television lighting, and that experience shapes how I shoot headshots. I use natural-looking lighting, pay close attention to expression and make adjustments as we go rather than putting everyone through the same setup.

Sessions are relaxed and move at your pace. We'll try different wardrobe, backgrounds, lighting and expressions to build a gallery with some range. I'll give you direction when you need it, so you what to do in front of the camera.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Come prepared with a few options. Bring wardrobe that represents the kinds of roles you're going after. We can look through everything together before we start.

We'll shoot and review as we go. You'll be able to see what we're getting during the session, which makes it easier to adjust expression, wardrobe or lighting when we need to.

Choose the photographs you want. After the session, you'll receive a proofing gallery to make your selections. One professionally retouched image is included with your $299 session, and additional images are $75 each.

Headshots sessions start at $299

$299 + HST includes your studio session and one professionally retouched image. After the session, choose your favourites from a private gallery. Additional retouched images are $75 each.

How many looks can we shoot?

There’s no set number of looks. We can change wardrobe, backgrounds, lighting and expression throughout the session and keep working until we have a good range of images to choose from.

What should I wear for my actor headshots?

Bring a few options that feel like you and make sense for the kinds of roles you’re going after. Layers, knitwear and structured pieces tend to photograph well, but there aren’t any hard rules. If you’re unsure about something, bring it. We can go through your options together before we shoot.

When will I get my headshots?

Your online gallery uploads as we shoot, so you can start looking through your images right from your phone during the session. Your first professionally retouched image is delivered within 24 hours. Any additional images you select are delivered within 5 business days.

Do you retouch actor headshots?

Yes. Your session includes one professionally retouched image, and additional images are $75 each. Retouching is kept clean and natural, with the goal of giving you a polished photograph that still looks like you.

Where is your studio?

Sessions take place at the Hero Shots studio at 312 Dolomite Dr, Unit 218 in North York, Toronto. Free parking is available on site.

How do I choose my photos?

You'll receive an online gallery where you can look through the shoot and choose your favourites. One retouched image is included with the $299 session fee, and additional retouched images are $75 each. You only need to purchase the images you actually want.
