Most people aren’t used to being photographed. You don’t need to know how to pose or what expression to make before you arrive.
We’ll start simply, review the photographs as we go and make adjustments together. I’ll guide you through posture, angles and expression throughout the session.
WHAT DO YOU NEED YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS TO DO?
An audition, a company website and a magazine feature call for different photographs. We’ll talk about where yours will be used and what you want them to communicate, then work through wardrobe, lighting, backgrounds and expression with that in mind.
You might need one straightforward headshot or a broader selection of portraits. We can explore different options during the session, and you’ll choose your finished photographs after seeing the gallery.

$299
Plus HST. This reserves your time in the studio, and includes one professionally retouched photo. After the session, choose your favourites photos from a private gallery. Additional photos are $75 each.
FAQs
How many looks can we shoot?
There’s no set limit. We can change wardrobe, background, lighting and expression as appropriate, and we’ll keep shooting until we’ve created a varied gallery. How many looks we get through depends on how involved each setup is.
Do you retouch actor headshots?
Yes. Your session includes one professionally retouched image, and additional images are $75 each. Retouching is kept clean and natural, with the goal of giving you a polished photograph that still looks like you.
What should I wear for my actor headshots?
Start with the roles you’re pursuing. Bring four to six tops that fit well and give us a few useful directions to explore. Solid colours usually work best, but texture, layers and small patterns can work too. We’ll look through your options together before we start.
Where is your studio?
Sessions take place at the Hero Shots studio at 312 Dolomite Dr, Unit 218 in North York, Toronto. Free parking is available on site.
When will I get my headshots?
Your online gallery uploads as we shoot, so you can start looking through your images right from your phone during the session. Your first professionally retouched image is delivered within 24 hours. Any additional images you select are delivered within 5 business days.
How do I choose my photos?
You'll receive an online gallery where you can look through the shoot and choose your favourites. One retouched image is included with the $299 session fee, and additional retouched images are $75 each. You only need to purchase the images you actually want.
